BC Hydro: Workplaces

• Workplaces can get a rebate of up to $2,000 per charger to purchase and install eligible Level 2 networked EV chargers for employee use , to a maximum of $14,000. Pre-approval from BC Hydro is required prior to purchasing and/or installing chargers. Eligible workplace organizations can have separate applications for different locations, up to a maximum of four.

FortisBC:  EV charging solutions for multi-unit residential buildings and workplaces

• Customers can apply for an EV charging rebate up to 50% of eligible purchase and installation costs, up to $2,000 per station, to a maximum of $14,000 per application to install Level 2 Charging infrastructure in your workplace or multi-unit residential building. Available only to buildings constructed before August 31, 2020.

FortisBC:  EV charging solutions for multi-unit residential buildings and workplaces

• FortisBC customers can apply to receive a rebate up to 50% of eligible purchase and installation costs, up to $350 per port, to a maximum of $5,000 per application for Level 2 EV charging station(s) in a multi-unit residential building that was constructed after implementation of municipal bylaws requiring EV-ready parking stalls. Available to multi-unit residential buildings that were constructed after implementation of municipal bylaws requiring EV-ready parking stalls.

• The CleanBC Go Electric Fleets program is intended to support public and private light-duty fleets transition to zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs). For a limited time, up to $30,000 in rebates for electrical infrastructure upgrades to support fleet EV charging (otherwise a maximum of $20,000) along with up to $4,000 in rebates for the purchase and installation of Level 2 charging stations (otherwise a maximum of $2,000); in addition to a maximum of $50,000 in rebates for the purchase and installation of DC Fast chargers. Applications are due March 1, 2023.

• The CleanBC Go Electric Public Charger Program is offering rebate amounts from $80,000 per <50 kW DCFC, to $130,000 per >100 kW DCFC for business, not-for-profit, local government, Indigenous community, or public sector organizations located and operating in B.C. to fill current gaps in the public DCFC network in B.C.. Applications are accepted until all funds have been exhausted.

• The CleanBC Commercial Vehicle Pilots Program (CVP) Program supports B.C.-based businesses, non-profits and eligible public entities looking to deploy commercial zero-emission vehicles, including medium- and heavy-duty on-road vehicles, rail, marine, aircraft and off-road equipment, along with supporting infrastructure. There is $11 million available for a wide range of zero-emission vehicle fleets and supporting infrastructure.

Fortis BC

• Fortis BC Home and Workplace EV Charging Program can help you save up to $350 on the costs of purchasing and installing an eligible Level 2 charging station for an electric vehicle.

BC Hydro: Single-family homes

• Single-family homes can get a rebate of up to 50% of the purchase and installation costs of an eligible Level 2 EV charger, to a maximum of $350. This includes duplexes or townhouses with private garages or dedicated parking.

SUVI Program

The SUVI Program provides rebates to purchasers or lessees of new cargo e-bikes, electric motorcycles, utility trucks, buses & more! The rebate is limited to a maximum of 33% of the vehicle MSRP or the maximum rebate amount listed in the respective vehicle category, whichever is less. The rebate percentage for eligible tourism operators (members of B.C. Destination Marketing Organizations) for on-road medium and heavy-duty vehicles is 66%, with a maximum cap of $100,000. Rebate amounts are subject to change.

The British Columbia Specialty-Use Vehicle Incentive Program (SUVI Program) offers rebates for electric vehicles, including motorcycles, buses, cube vans, etc. The Program is available to individuals, and to public and private fleets in British Columbia for new vehicles.

• Electric Motorcycle: Both individuals and organizations may apply for zero-emission motorcycle rebates, including limited-speed motorcycles. Maximum – $2,000
• Low-Speed: Individuals may apply for neighbourhood zero emission vehicles. Organizations may apply for all vehicle types under Low-Speed vehicle category. Maximum $2,000 for 15.9 kWh and below, $5,000 for 16 kWh and above.
• Cargo E-bikes: Only organizations (including B.C. businesses with a valid business license, non-profit organizations, and public sector organizations) may apply for cargo e-bike rebates. (go to site for more info on this) Maximum $1,700
• On road Medium and Heavy Duty: Fleets (organizations including businesses, non-profits and public sector organizations) may apply for rebates on eligible zero-emission buses, trucks and more. *Lease option for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles is 36 months. Maximum $100,000 or 33% of the purchase price, whichever is lower.
• Airport and Port Specialty Vehicle: Fleets (organizations including businesses, non-profits and public sector organizations) may apply for rebates on eligible zero-emission airport and port equipment. Maximum $20,000 when MSRP is below $300,000 and $50,000 when MSRP is above $300,000.
• Utility: Fleets (organizations including businesses, non-profits and public sector organizations) may apply for rebates on eligible zero-emission all-terrain vehicles, off-road side-by-side vehicles, snowmobiles and more. (go to site for more info on this) Maximum $2,000

Clean Energy Vehicle (CEV) Incentive Program

• The Clean Energy Vehicle (CEV) Incentive Program provides point of sale incentives of up to $4,000 to qualified BC applicants for the purchase or lease of eligible electric vehicles.The Province recently expanded the types of electric vehicles eligible for rebates. The price cap to determine eligibility for vehicle rebates remains at a maximum of $55,000 for compact and full-size cars. However, to support families and businesses requiring larger EVs, a second category has been added. For larger EVs that will be coming to market, including minivans, sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks, the cap has been set at a maximum retail price of $70,000. • As of Feb 23, 2022, B.C. made used electric vehicles (defined as having been driven over 6,000km) exempt from provincial sales tax, making the purchase of an EV more affordable and providing more options.

Clean BC | Go Electric BC

• The Clean BC | Go Electric BC provides a list of electric vehicles in B.C. that are eligible for a combination of provincial and federal rebates. Rebates vary based on the vehicle’s type and model, and are applied to the price of the car by the dealer at the time of sale or lease. • The Municipal Climate Change Action Centre has created the Electric Vehicles for Municipalities (EVM) Program to provide rebates for new EV charging stations in public places, on-street locations, municipal property and for municipal vehicle fleets. You can look at the Specific Electric Vehicle Charging Program for information to help guide you toward purchasing the right charging station for your community’s needs. As one of Alberta’s local partners, the Action Centre is offering $3.4 million in rebates for municipalities to build their charging infrastructure. What’s more, up to $10,000 for each Level 2 Charger and up to $150,000 for each Fast Charger. Apply as soon as possible to secure your charging stations.

• The Municipal Climate Change Action Centre has created the Electric Vehicles for Municipalities (EVM) Program to provide funding to municipalities to assist their transition to a fleet of Electric Vehicles (EVs). Funding amount depends on vehicle type.
• ScrapIt has launched in the province of Alberta and is offering a $300 rebate for the purchase of a new BEV or PHEV when you scrap a vehicle. Combined with the federal incentive, drivers can claim up to $5,300

Unfortunately, there are currently no incentive programs available at this time in Ontario. You can however take advantage of any Federal program available to your needs.

• Plug’n Drive in collaboration with Clean Air Partnership is offering a $1000 incentive for a used fully electric vehicle with a re-sale sticker price below $50,000 (CDN) purchased on or after April 14, 2019.Drivers can receive an additional $1000 if they scrap and replace a gasoline or diesel vehicle and purchase a used EV, for a combined total of $2000 towards a used EV. You must take the Used EV Incentive seminar to qualify for the incentive.

• • The Province of Quebec offers financial assistance for the acquisition and installation of charging stations at the workplace equal to 50% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $5,000 per port. There is no specific limit on the number of terminals installed and eligible for a refund claim. However, the maximum amount of financial assistance allocated per institution is set at $25,000 per fiscal year.
  • The Province of Quebec provides financial assistance for the acquisition, lease and installation of one or more 240 VAC charging stations for multi-unit residential buildings. The rebate may be as much as much as $5,000 per charging station.
  • The Province of Quebec is offering up to $60,000 (or 50% of total eligible costs) for DC fast charging stations used for light, medium and heavy-duty road fleets.

• • The Used Vehicle Rebate program offers a rebate of up to $4,000 for purchasing a used battery electric vehicle. Rebate is first-come, first-served and issued pending on availability of funds.
  • The New Vehicle Rebate program offers a rebate of up to $8,000 for purchasing a new electric vehicle that costs less than $60,000.
  • The Province of Quebec is offering funding for up to $100,000 for zero emission fleet vehicles. (French web page)

New Brunswick

• The Plug-in NB Power Program will offer rebates starting July 8, 2021 of up to $750 towards the purchase and install of a home charging station for New Brunswickers who purchase or lease a qualifying new or purchase a used electric vehicle at a licensed automobile dealership in New Brunswick.

  Residents or organizations who receive a vehicle rebate through the Plug-In NB Rebate Program are eligible to claim 50% of the cost to purchase and install one new level 2 EV charger, up to a maximum of $750.

• Are you shopping for a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHEV) combined with an electric vehicle home charging station? You could qualify for rebates available through Plug-In NB (the New Brunswick Electric Vehicle rebate Program) and the iZEV Program from the Government of Canada.

Prince Edward Island

• The Government of Prince Edward Island is offering the most generous electric vehicle (EV) incentive in Canada by providing $5,000 to Islanders who purchase a new or used EV. The Government is also offering $2,500 to those who buy a plug-in hybrid.
• In addition, Islanders who utilize the PEI Universal EV Incentive (both BEV and PHEV) will receive a free Level 2 charger. Islanders will be responsible for all installation costs associated with charging infrastructure.
• Islanders who buy a new, fully electric vehicle may be eligible for up to $10,000 off the purchase price with the Federal Government incentive of $5,000 and the PEI Universal EV Incentive combined.

Nova Scotia

• Electrify Nova Scotia Rebate Program provides new rebates of up to $3,000 for new electric vehicles, $2,000 for used electric vehicles and $500 for e-bikes purchased on or after February 24, 2021. As of April 1, 2021 rebates will be applied at point-of-sale for purchase and lease. These provincial rebates will be able to be combined with federal government rebates of up to $5,000 for new electric vehicles.

Newfoundland and Labrador

• NLHydro’s new EV Rebate Program, you can save $2,500 on the purchase or lease of a 100% all-electric vehicle. That means you can save up to $7,500 when you combine our rebate with current federal incentives for the purchase of a new EV.

New Brunswick

• The Plug-in NB Power Program will offer rebates starting July 8, 2021 of up to $5,000 to New Brunswickers who purchase or lease a qualifying new or purchase a used electric vehicle at a licensed automobile dealership in New Brunswick. Those who purchase an eligible vehicle can also receive a $750 rebate on the purchase and installation of a home charging station.

Yukon

• The Government of Yukon is offering a rebate for installing a Level 2 electric vehicle charger at multi-unit residential, commercial, or institutional buildings. You may be eligible to receive 50% of the purchase and installation costs up to $4,000 per installed charger at these locations. This includes First Nations government-owned buildings.

Yukon

• The Government of Yukon is offering a rebate on the purchase of a new zero-emission vehicle. $5,000 for a new battery-electric vehicle and $3,000 for a new short-range plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Vehicles must have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price below $55,000; be registered in Yukon; and be purchased by a Yukon resident.

Northwest Territories

• Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA) provides a $5,000 rebate for a new battery electric vehicle (BEV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) to reduce the cost of purchasing and using an electric vehicle (EV) in the Northwest Territories. Pre-approval is required.
